Reconstructions

Some of the earliest reconsructions were created by the BBC themselves in the form of "photonovels".  Using tiny (by today's standards) images taken from scans of the John Cura telesnaps, text from the camera scripts and occassional sound effects clips, these were the first glimpse many of us had of these missing serials.  While no longer directly accessible, with a little digging they can still be found on the BBC website.

For an in-depth review and analysis of the reconstruction scene it's hard to go past Hugh M. Pearson's two volume reference work: The Lost Lords of Time - Recons - .  As close to a definitive account as you'll find anywhere: the first volume focuses on the work of individual pioneers and the groups which coalesced over time; the second volume covers the early work of powerhouse reconstruction group, Loose Canon.

Loose Canon have in the past stated they will pull down their missing serial recreations from their Daily Motion account as official releases become available.  The links that follow will in time break, (and this is a good thing), but the additional interview material should remain and is interesting in it's own right.  Buy the official releases!
